Cyclone Mocha

Cyclone Mocha was one of the strongest cyclones ever recorded in Myanmar when it made landfall in Rakhine State on 14 May 2023, causing widespread devastation. At its fiercest, windspeeds reached more than 250 kilometres per hour. These photos were taken in the aftermath of the storm, documenting the damage and UNDP’s initial response.
